FAQ

FAQ

  • What types of software projects can ETS deliver?

ETS provides full-stack custom software development for corporate and brand websites, mini programs, iOS and Android apps, admin systems, e-commerce platforms, and H5 experiences. Solutions are designed around each client’s real business scenario, especially where business rules, data relationships, and reliability requirements are complex.

  • How much does a custom development project cost?

Custom software pricing depends on the project type, requirements complexity, technical difficulty, and schedule. We assess your needs and provide a detailed proposal and quotation free of charge.

  • Why do quotes from different companies vary so much?

The main differences are the delivery model and service quality. Template-based work may cost less but can limit ownership and future expansion; our quote covers a dedicated professional team and the complete process from discovery through launch, with a clear contract scope and no hidden charges.

  • What is included in a project quotation?

Our quotation covers research and analysis, product planning, prototyping, UI design, development, testing, deployment, training, and handover, together with technical documents such as solution, API, and deployment guides.

  • Will there be additional costs during the project?

The contract defines the scope, feature list, and delivery criteria. New requirements or scope changes follow a formal change-control process, with effort and cost confirmed by both parties before work begins.

  • How long does development usually take?

Timing depends on complexity, feature volume, and collaboration efficiency. Corporate sites and mini programs commonly take 1–3 months, apps 2–4 months, and complex business systems 3–6 months. We provide a detailed schedule after requirements are clear.

  • How do you charge for projects?

We offer fixed-price, milestone-based contracts for clearly scoped projects, and time-and-materials billing for exploratory or long-term iterative work. Both models are defined in a contract.

  • What do you recommend for a limited budget?

We recommend phased delivery: launch the core features first as an MVP, validate the direction, and then iterate. We can help prioritize features and create a practical phased plan.

  • Do quotations include server and domain costs?

No. Servers, domains, SMS verification, map APIs, and other third-party services are paid for by the client. We can procure and configure them on your behalf at cost, with an upfront estimate.

  • Do you offer free requirements assessment and quotations?

Yes. Our product managers assess your needs, technical feasibility, and estimated effort, then provide a proposal and quotation with no obligation to sign.

  • What is your standard project workflow?

Our process covers requirements discussion, analysis, product planning, prototyping, UI design, development, testing and acceptance, deployment, training and handover, and operations support. Every stage has clear deliverables and approval points.

  • Can we start if our requirements are not yet clear?

Yes. Through business interviews, process mapping, scenario analysis, and competitive research, we turn initial ideas into structured requirements and product prototypes.

  • What support do you need from the client team?

We need business context and relevant materials during discovery, timely feedback at key approvals, and support for user acceptance testing. We provide a detailed collaboration checklist and schedule at kickoff.

  • How is the project team formed, and who should we work with?

We form a dedicated team including product, design, engineering, QA, and project-management roles. The client should appoint one project contact to consolidate internal requirements and decisions.

  • Are requirement changes allowed during delivery?

Yes, through a formal process: submit the change, assess its schedule and cost impact, confirm a proposal and quotation, sign a supplemental agreement, then implement and update the plan.

  • What materials should we prepare before kickoff?

Materials may include business background, processes and rules, logo and brand assets, copy, product images, and platform accounts. You do not need to prepare everything at once; our project manager helps throughout.

  • How do contracting and payment work?

We sign a formal software-development contract covering scope, features, delivery and acceptance criteria, payment milestones, and intellectual-property ownership. Payments are normally made in installments against milestones.

  • How are project communications organized?

We use enterprise messaging for daily progress and issue coordination, hold review meetings at key milestones, and can provide weekly progress, risk, and next-step reports.

  • How do you ensure efficient remote collaboration?

Experienced project managers coordinate requirements, schedules, risks, and stakeholders. For key milestones, on-site collaboration can be arranged; otherwise, video meetings and shared documents keep teams aligned.

  • What are the acceptance criteria and process?

Criteria are agreed in the contract and normally cover features, test cases, usability-impacting defects, design conformity, and performance targets. We resolve issues to the agreed standard before acceptance is signed.

  • Which technology stacks do you use?

We select technology based on project needs. Our capabilities include Java, PHP, Go, Node.js, Python, .NET, Vue, React, Next.js, Nuxt.js, native iOS/Android, Flutter, MySQL, Redis, PostgreSQL, and SQL Server.

  • How much concurrent traffic can a system support?

Capacity is determined by architecture. We can design from a single-server setup to microservice clusters, read/write separation, and database sharding, balancing performance, scalability, and cost.

  • Can the new system integrate with our existing systems?

Yes. Through APIs, data synchronization services, and middleware, we can connect with ERP, CRM, OA, finance, and other existing systems while ensuring data accuracy, timeliness, and security.

  • Which deployment options do you support?

We support public cloud, private deployment on your own servers or data center, and hybrid deployments. The design is selected to meet data-security, compliance, and cost requirements.

  • Who owns the source code?

The client owns the source code. After acceptance, we deliver complete unencrypted, compilable source code, database scripts, deployment and technical documentation, and design source files, as agreed in the contract.

  • What does source-code delivery include?

It includes all front-end, back-end, and mobile source code; database scripts; third-party dependency and configuration files; API documentation; deployment guides; design source files; and test cases and reports.

  • Which platforms do you develop for?

We develop for responsive web, WeChat, Alipay, and Baidu mini programs, iOS and Android apps, HarmonyOS apps, and H5 pages. Multi-platform releases can be delivered in parallel.

  • Do you provide UI/UX design?

Yes. Before development, our product and design teams create prototypes covering information architecture, user flows, and page logic, followed by visual UI design approved by the client.

  • How do you choose a database?

We choose based on data structure and access patterns: MySQL or PostgreSQL for relational data, Redis for caching and sessions, MongoDB for document data, and SQL Server or PostgreSQL for enterprise-grade consistency.

  • Do you have an independent QA team?

Yes. Our independent QA team performs functional, performance, compatibility, and security testing. Test reports form part of the acceptance evidence before release.

  • How do you ensure project quality?

Our quality-management system covers the full lifecycle: requirements and technical reviews, coding standards, functional, performance, compatibility, and security testing, plus pre-release regression testing.

  • What if the final deliverable does not meet expectations?

We prevent this through staged reviews and approvals for requirements, prototypes, design, and testing. If a verified deliverable fails to meet the agreed standard, we rectify it until it does.

  • Is there a risk of project delays, and how is it managed?

Risks may arise from changes, delayed third-party dependencies, late client materials, or unexpected technical challenges. We monitor milestones, warn clients early, and jointly adjust priorities, resources, or dates.

  • What is your project risk-management approach?

We identify risks early, provide proactive warnings, and respond quickly through research, technical reviews, backup roles, clear milestones, and continuous project monitoring.

  • How does the client confirm that the delivered system meets requirements?

Delivery is checked against the contract feature list and acceptance criteria. The client verifies features, conducts user acceptance testing in real business scenarios, and signs acceptance once all requirements are met.

  • What happens if we need to change service providers mid-project?

The contract defines an exit mechanism, including ownership of delivered work, settlement of completed effort, and transfer of data and code. We assist with handover to minimize business impact.

  • How long is maintenance provided after delivery?

Depending on project scale and the contract, we provide 3 to 12 months of free operations and maintenance. Clients may then sign a long-term support agreement or take over maintenance with our assistance.

  • What is included in the free maintenance period?

It usually includes bug fixes, security-vulnerability remediation, system monitoring, data backup and recovery, technical consultation, and usage guidance. New feature development is excluded.

  • How are new features charged after the maintenance period?

New features are quoted based on assessed effort. We issue a proposal after assessing the requirements and cost, then develop and deliver after the supplemental agreement is confirmed.
